GB Paralympic High Performance Coach Nick Baker recently presented a number of sessions at the “2019 World Rowing Coaches Conference” near Heathrow 20-21 November to help people introducing adaptive programmes. He was supported by Sally Hopewell of Marlow RC in the Q&A section who provided personal perspectives as an adaptive/para-athlete. The “Creating a successful Adaptive Programme in a club”
The presentation covered the “Myths” and “Not Myths” of adaptive rowing and supporting it at clubs. My next two posts will share much of the material he presented as we collaborated on the presentation.
His second presentation “Special Considerations for Coaching PR1 and PR2 rowers” covered more technical and high performance aspects of fixed seat rowing. The slides can be viewed here and the presentation can be seen in the YouTube video below between 1:30 and 1:55.
