After a 3-year COVID-induced hiatus, BRIC is Back! With a new mid-country friendly venue of the NEC Birmingham to make it easier to access for a large geographic area, it hosted 46 events compared to the 19 during its 2021 virtual event. 114 Entries (many athletes having multiple entries especially with their combo registration deal) resulted in lots of competition throughout the noisy, fever-pitched, energy-pack day.
As with 2021, We Are Invictus and Marlow RC battled it out for top bragging rights at the podium with Invictus prevailing again with 14 wins against Marlow’s 13. Marlow did get the consolation prize of winning the incredibly close 4k Relay which capped the proceedings of the day. Also, special congratulations to Marlow’s Matilda Greenwood who set World Records in both the 17-18 Women’s IAR6 2000m and 1-minute distances.
