In a nod to the ever increasing popularity of Paralympic sport, Ocean Outdoor and Paralympic GB set up the first ever outdoor “Fanzones” for large group viewing of some of the big Paris events. Of course, pararowing featured highly in those and British Rowing took the occasion to support the event with some rowing machines at the venue and people to introduce attendees to the sport. The initiative was supported by Nick Steel of Invictus as well as the Ross County Rowing Club (also in attendance linked to the MARS STARS programme – mixed ability rowing). 30,934 metres was rowed over the two days of their attendance which will go towards the total distance being rowed as part of Love Rowing’s The Big Row.
