- 14 intrepid RRC Ross rowing club MARS Stars and supporters advanced upon Turin this year, with high expectations after last year’s positive experiences. The welcome from Armida club that we received was even more heartfelt than last year … thank you. We came home with an array of gold, silver and bronze medals having had an amazing time especially the superb food and fun dancing at the dinner dance on Saturday evening.”
Turin hosted the 2024 Mixed Ability Rowing Regatta on its River Po. The two days of racing featured both 500m and 1000m courses and competitors from Ireland, UK, USA and of course Italy. The event was true to its name with “mixed” quads mixing genders, ages, countries AND abilities.
Ross were delighted to win the award for the most points by a women’s crew, while Stratford Upon Avon took the prize for the top club at the regatta. The event concluded with a dinner dance on Saturday in the Armida clubhouse which has its own ballroom. The festivities included a variety of song in a variety of languages.
