While Team England secured yet another victory in the Home International Regatta last weekend, kudos to Wales for securing a mini-victory in the Para events by points. Llandaff RC reported on the particular success of their PR3 boat:
- ·Para-athletes Rebekah Knight and Miguel Ferreira De Lima won the PR3 Mixed Double Scull, a new race introduced this year in readiness for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The Llandaff rowers posted a time of 7 minutes 37 seconds on the 2,000 metres long Olympic Course at Dorney Lake – a time that would have placed them fourth in the Paris Paralympic Games Final 2024. They beat two of England’s athletes who are on the L.A. 2028 Pathway, by seven seconds…They also made history by becoming the first Welsh athletes to win three Golds over two consecutive annual Home Countries International Regattas.”
